Yeah, they’re that good. Photo – Josh Campbell Photography.

We don’t believe it, but the shortened days, cooling temperatures, and suspiciously fall-colored calendar pictures are all pointing to one thing: summer has come and gone. Even though we don’t buy it, or don’t want to anyhow, it’s a fact of life that we’ll just have to ungraciously accept.

With 2015’s summer festival season in the books, it’s time to sit back and ponder the revelrous ramblings and times had and shared by our beautiful community.

Outdoor festivals and shows, pool parties, camping trips… all meeting their fruitful 2015 end for many of us. Au revoir, until next year. That doesn’t mean that this has to be a somber moment, though.

It gives time for reflection; time to truly sit back and take in what we got to experience with the friends that we were lucky enough to experience it with. To commemorate the sunshine past with our little ode to the warmer months, here’s a recap of 10 top EDM festivals from 2015, we hope you dig it:

EDC Las Vegas

We’ll keep it short and sweet with this one: EDC has one of the biggest lineups to ever hit North America, it’s in Las Vegas, and it goes down with 400,000 people who love the music just as much as you do. Need we say more?

Lightning in a Bottle

If you want to know what the time of your life looks like, just watch the video that’s conveniently perched right above these words. Capturing the electrifying essence of art and humanity in a single ongoing moment that’s been shared innumerable times by countless thousands since the inception of the fan-favorite festival, Lightning in a Bottle renders us speechless.

When The Do LaB throws something, you know that there’s that extra bit of soul in it, and LIB brings together the best music, art, and transformative thinking to create something unreal each and every year. ‘Nuff said.

Imagine Festival

Atlanta’s Imagine Festival came up huge with the festival’s second year in the heart of the Georgian capital. Dada Life, The Glitch Mob, Tipper, Crizzly, Datsik, and more – all dropping bass bombs to thousands of movers and shakers… it’s a sight to behold.

With the festival ramping up everything from the lineup to the production and jaw-dropping after parties one can’t imagine a better time to be had (see what we did there?). As one of the South’s best and brightest new festival contenders, keep a watch out for Imagine 2016, it’s going to be a doozy.

Sonic Bloom

Take a tablespoon of Sound Tribe, a pinch of Shpongle, a dash of Emancipator, a sprinkle of Random Rab, a slice of the Colorado countryside, a whole mess of the Sonic Bloom Orchestra and the rest of the top psychedelic and sacred bass producers then blend, vigorously, and you’ll get something that looks a little like Sonic Bloom 2015.

Celebrating the 10 year reunion in with friendly mischief and music over the summer solstice, there was little more than a soul could want those beautiful days out in Colorado. It was beautiful, it was magical, and it was blooming.

Wakarusa

Bringing together a medley of music that only Wakarusa can, fans came from near and far to converge on the mesmerizing Mulberry Mountain in Ozark Arkansas.

With an eclectic lineup that boasted Ben Harper, Major Lazer, The Roots, Thievery Corporation, STS9, Umphrey’s, and about 100 more of the best bands and DJs that you can think of – what else could Waka have been besides a ridiculously good time? The world may never know, because that’s exactly what they gave us.

Electric Forest

Electric Forest was back and bigger than ever with 2015’s annual romp in Rothbury, Michigan. As if 3 days of Cheese, Bassnectar, Skrillex, Kaskade, Flume, Big G, Break Science, Claude VonStroke, and more weren’t enough – there’s Sherwood Forest to top off the entire concoction. The Forest is hands down bliss at its finest, and the festival proved it once again in 2015.

Hyperion Music & Arts Festival

One of the tightest-knit festival’s that you’ll ever find, Hyperion Music & Arts Festival returned for a monster 3rd year with Turbo Suit, Michal Menert, TAUK, Desert Dwellers, SunSquabi, and more for 2015’s Spencer, Indiana groove-fest.

Bringing together a perfect blend of national headliners while also nurturing the exploding Midwest music scene, our hat is off to you, Hyperion. You guys truly know how to build a scene.

CounterPoint Music Festival

People came to CounterPoint ready to get down. From G Jones’ sunlit rage fest to Zeds Dead’s massive end-of-festival blowout, there’s not much more that can be said about CounterPoint 2015 outside of hot damn, they killed it! As the festival continues to grow and expand, we can only hope that CounterPoint continues the path that they’ve set out on.

What the Festival

EDM Festivals

What the Festival is where Oregon vibes and electronic times combine to create a rollicking shindig that defies explanation. Big Gigantic, ODESZA, GRiZ, Keys N Krates, Thomas Jack’s Tropical Pool Party, UZ, Justin Martin, and more converged on Dufur, Oregon last June, and it was beautiful. From the midday pool parties to middle of the night dance parties, What the Festival made memories that are sure to stick in attendees’ minds until the end of time.

Euphoria Music Festival

What’s better than getting out and about for a dance party in the music city of Austin, Texas? Heading just outside the city to the Carson Creek Ranch for Pretty Lights, Adventure Club, Thievery Corporation, Thomas Jack, EOTO, Emancipator, Break Science, EDX, and more. Yeah, it’s that good.

Bringing a bonkers lineup for the festival’s 4th year, there’s few other shindigs that hit the music nail on the head as perfectly as Euphoria. Good tunes, good people, and good times.
