Back in August we spoke with Wick-it The Instigator at Imagine Music Festival and hinted that his next EP was right around the corner.
Though his remixes of artists such as Justin Timberlake, Nate Dogg, LL Cool J, and Johnny Cash have helped elevate his career to the next level, Wick-it is eager to show that he is capable of spitting out sick pieces of original work.
One of my very next goals is to establish myself as somebody who puts out original music. I don’t want to just be the remix guy. I want to be able to do it all. I’ve been adding a lot of live instruments, adding some guitar amps and stuff, and elarning how to do a lot more of that studio stuff.
The release of his latest track “He Gets Wick-it” may finally be the signal that the era of No Ragrats is upon us.
The first track off of his upcoming album – No Ragrats – is as smooth and dirty as ever. Loaded with his signature guitar licks and turntablism, this electronic hip-hop tune is proof that all of that time in the studio has definitely paid dividends.
