Presented by Dr Pepper

Every artist possesses the unique ability to channel their musical energy to an audience in a way that not only gets bodies moving but can serve as soundtracks to some of the most precious moments of our lives. Collaborations, similar to those occurring during Dr Pepper’s One of a Kind Studio Sessions, offer a way to expand upon individual creativity, offering new perspectives on particular sounds. By bringing together three producers and four performers, Dr Pepper has catalyzed numerous one of a kind productions.

Whether it is a remix or an entirely original piece of work, music can be elevated to new heights when brilliant minds come together for the sake of creation.

Pushing one another to maximize potential and break boundaries is what working together is all about. While each artist has their own personal vision, an outside perspective can assist in bringing more clarity to where a project is going. As artist Rockie Fresh stated during his time in the Dr Pepper /1 Studio:

Producer’s style definitely have a huge influence on the whole [recording] process. In these past two sessions that I’ve had, the producers, not only were they giving input but they both were able to teach me some new things that I didn’t know.

There is a reason that so many fans have been receptive to the music created by the following artists, and bringing together their accolades will only compound the genius that has already garnered so much success and appreciation.

The beauty of collaboration, Rockie Fresh continues, is:

[…] about creating something, for me, is the end result. Seeing certain sounds come from, basically, a blank canvas.

The following artists have already created some of the most musically complex, astounding works of art that exist within electronic music today. Could you imagine the end result that would stem from these one of a kind collaborations?

Check out our one of a kind blend: 10 EDM collaborations we would like to see.

Gramatik & Emancipator

It is hard to find many better than Gramatik when it comes to pumping out groovy electro-soul jams that incorporate classical elements with hip-hop. With powerful basslines and trippy distortion, the founder of Lowtemp Records is a master of creating uniquely invigorating sounds. Couple this with the spine tingling tracks of Emancipator that have the power to captivate audiences across the globe and the product would likely be a powerful piece of art and music experience that would leave an impact on the landscape.

Opiuo & Love and Light

Love and Light has been making a name for themselves by shifting the expectations of bass music with creations that inspire a connection to the sound. Having experimented with genres such as glitch-hop, house, dubstep, and trance, the diverse production duo would create an ideal collaboration with the glitch master himself Opiuo.

Above & Beyond & Andrew Rayel

Above & Beyond are masters of their craft beyond the widely known success of their club tracks. Tony, Paavo, and Jono all began as classically trained musicians, exhibiting talents in cello, piano, guitar, and vocals. Their acoustic album and sold out performances at Porchester Hall in London and the upcoming Madison Square Garden show speak volumes to their ability to tap into the human emotion with their productions. Add the classically trained producer Andrew Rayel of Armada Records into the mix and you have recipe for something extremely special.

Seven Lions & The Glitch Mob

The shape-shifting style of The Glitch Mob is difficult to categorize to a specific genre as it is a sound entirely unique to itself. Utilizing heavy basslines, vocal samples, momentous builds, and ground breaking drops, the Los Angeles trio is on a level all their own, and the reception of their latest album “Love Death Immortality” substantiates their production techniques. Adding the aggression that Seven Lions is able to bring to the dance floor through his dubbed out, bass heavy samples that incorporate hauntingly beautiful vocal samples and the offspring of this collaboration be something extraterrestrial.

Kaskade & Tritonal

Ryan Raddon, Chad Cisneros, and Dave Reed are three of the biggest known names in electronic dance music and are keeping the big room progressive house movement alive. Kaskade is a producer that has been around forever and just gets what creating music for the fans is all about. With countless Beatport Top 20 singles between them, multiple number one releases, and over 200 original productions and remixes by Tritonal since 2007, the result of these forces collaborating would be something truly special.

Mat Zo & Big Gigantic

Big Gigantic has established a massive following with their unique style that ties together the saxophone and drums with electronic synth. Their last two albums “The Night is Young” and “Nocturnal” have catapulted them to headliner status, with multiple performances at some of the biggest festivals in the world. Throw the electro-house mastery of Mat Zo, who has the ability to incorporate nearly every genre into his sets and the result would be a jazzy, funky, live-instrumental throwdown of epic proportions.

Disclosure & Thomas Jack

Nu disco meets tropical house. The two styles have yet to be intertwined though we believe the intriguingly rising genres would beautifully complement each other. Who better to mesh the styles than Grammy-nominated producers Disclosure and the pioneer of tropical house himself, Thomas Jack. Chilled out, tropical disco with a deep house twist? Sounds like something we could all vibe to.

Wick-It the Instigator & Break Science

Layered with multiple textures that incorporate both programmed and live-instrumental elements, Break Science utilizes influences of vinyl, drum and bass, electro-soul, jazz, and glitch in to their production that is otherworldly. After joining Pretty Lights as part of their live band, Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee have brought their skills to the next level and had the ability to showcase it to the world. On the other hand Wick-It the Instigator has redefined trap music which is evident by his SoundCloud page being one of the most 200 active on the entire website. Both of these groups reel in music lovers and leave them craving more. Could you imagine the byproduct of a collaboration?

The Polish Ambassador & Keys N Krates

Individually, these two entities are two of the hardest working producers in the game. When they are on stage they put more energy into creating their music than most people in the industry. The Polish Ambassador has absolutely mastered Ableton, creating countless remixes and original tracks that see every set he performs different than the one before it. The same goes for Keys N Krates. With drums, turntables, and the keyboard creating a live-instrumental/electronic fusion that is unlike many other sounds out there. A glitched out, live-instrumental, trap laced concoction sounds like a flavor that would stimulate the musical palate and leave you craving more.

Pretty Lights Live Band & Bassnectar

Having came together in the past for the Basslights tour, it is no secret that Derek Vincent Smith and Lorin Ashton are not opposed to working together, though no musical creations have stemmed from their touring together. Imagine Pretty Lights on the decks with the brass and woodwinds building you up to an inconceivable crescendo before being absolutely slammed back to earth with a Bassnectar created drop. It gives us the tingles just thinking about the possibilities.

The thought of some of our favorite artists coming together to produce new tracks is enough to make us salivate.

While these are just a few of ideas we believe would work well together, there are countless artists coming together to contribute their blend to electronic music. Dr Pepper’s One of a Kind Studio Sessions is providing a canvas to some of the most talented artists in the music industry.
