Based on the recent success of the label’s debut release in March supported by artists such as Croatia Squad, ‘Story of My Life’, the beloved production duo is ready to see the results of what their second release on NOS will bring. With acclaimed press regarding ‘Story of My Life’, multiple Beatport charts, large radio placements and a track record of quality singles coming out on labels such as Enormous Tunes, Twisted Funk and Sirup this release should follow suit.

Both DJs have been touring steadily for years from Ibiza and Miami Music Week to EDC Week and Float Pool Club as well as have a fiery discography that spans back to collaborations together since 2016, experience that shines through their initial summer cut, ‘Drop’.

Freshcobar shares on the backstory and music production techniques behind the new release, “the track was originally made in 2019 but due to covid we shelved if. This year I re-opened the session and Lavelle and I re-worked some of the drums and sounds. I ended up redoing the bass sounds to be a bit more current, and layered it up with my new Moog Model D.

There are a bunch of little stabs and chops that we took from samples and a bunch of synths carrying the tune along. I probably used Serum for a lot of that but I can’t recall off hand. I also used my Moog Subsequent 37 for a few FX sounds in this one for sure. Overall this track is all about the groove, it’s pretty sparse and simple just the right sounds at the right time.”

Lavelle Dupree shares, “drop is a peak time tech house banger meant to light up dance floors across the globe when it DROPS!!!”

Are there any upcoming summer plans you want to share with our readers?

Freshcobar: Just finishing up the summer shows and working in the studio. Also working on the new label NOS Recordings. We have all of the releases lined up for the whole year and are working on next year’s tunes! Also, we launched our online shop and will be including tons of merch. Pretty soon we will be giving out free fan packs so contact us if interested at the label’s website https://nosrecordings.com/

Lavelle Dupree:  I have a busy tour schedule this summer with a lot of awesome cities I get to visit like Toronto at end of July.

Are there any electronic music projects, events or movements that you admire?

Freshcobar: I’m a fan of Crssd Festival here in SD since it’s in my hometown. All the regular festivals that I attend yearly are some of my favorites: Miami Music Week, and Amsterdam Dance Event. I want to check out Sonar and possibly get back to play in Ibiza this year if I can. There are a ton of new events I see popping up from younger kids which I think is great they are paving their own lane.

Lavelle Dupree: I like what Insomniac and Tomorrowland are doing, Huge fan of Groove Cruise and Desert Hearts  as well!

What is one life philosophy you like to live by?

Lavelle Dupree: Don’t fight back fight forward and get the most out of very moment.

What is one of your favorite tracks lately?

Freshcobar: One track thats been making it into almost every set I’ve played recently is Don’t Blink’s ‘The Statement’. It came out earlier this year on their album but I think I’ve dropped it in almost every set since that it fits.

Lavelle Dupree: ‘Been A Minute’ – AndMe & Bastian, ‘More Than You’ – Johnny Stayer, ‘Cherry Punch’ – Bruce Banner
