When it comes to electronic dance music, it could always be portrayed in having a build-up leading to a beat drop. However, one record label in the scene has turned heads by bringing to light artists who do the inverse.
Anjunadeep, a record label founded by Above & Beyond plus, James Grant, is curated by numerous of DJs who go deeper than your usual deep house.
The label has become a respected imprint for over ten years, and over 200 releases consisting of artists people suspire for. The sound of the label has expanded to even lower BPMs as it continues to be touching and a passionate kind of melodic electronic music.
Some of the producers that have gone under their wings include Kidnap Kid, Yotto, Dusky, Jody Wisternoff, Moon Boots and numerous more. When something new turns out from these artists, it doesn’t get unnoticed. For that specific reason, we decided to speak of an artist in Anjunadeep who does just that.
Coming from Brooklyn, New York, Pete Dougherty also known as Moon Boots, recently released a new album called, First Landing.
It’s been said that every time he hits the booths, it’s always to give the listeners a night that is better than any other. That same idea was carried over with each track that was placed into the album. First Landing holds the same elements of the kind of music Moon Boots adores which includes house, soul, funk, and jazz.
He pulls strings of house, soul, funk, and jazz then blends it in a way that will appeal to anyone.
Words from Moon Boots himself elaborating his views with First Landing:
I really stitched together the songs, wanting to make an album that’s not just club music. I was exploring different moods, genres and feelings, and there’s a lot of vocal collaborations that I am really happy with.
Ending the article with words from himself, we decided to showcase below some of his upcoming shows this fall, and also, included his full album.
