slander: noun – the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation
When it comes to their musical prowess, it’s extremely difficult to hold the Los Angeles-based production duo of Derek & Scott to the literal definition of their name; There isn’t a single bad thing you can say about the trajectory these dudes have been riding. After blowing up following their authoritative entrance into the world of dance music in 2014, Slander has unleashed a barrage of high-profile remixes, joined forces with NGHTMRE on the Nuclear Bonds EP, and dropped multiple singles from their Duality EP.
Though we are rapidly approaching The Year of the Monkey (Chinese Zodiac anyone?), Slander is definitely not up to any monkey business when it comes to making a statement in 2016.
At the pinnacle of their 22-city worldwide tour that has unleashed bass bombs across the U.S., Canada, Spain, and Germany, Slander has dropped a gem of a track in their latest collaboration. Having teamed up with progressive house luminary Adam K, the LA tag team has gifted our ears with an auditory treat. Haliene and Matthew Steeper slather hauntingly melodic vocals over the tightly wound production for a succulent sonic delicacy that we can’t stop gobbling up.
If you haven’t caught these guys live, be sure to check out one of their upcoming tour dates including stops at Ultra Music Festival and Beyond Wonderland.
