Hailing from San Diego, DJ and electronic dance music producer Phuse is a name to keep an eye on in the coming months. With enough momentum to reach critical mass Phuse has been all over the map over the past year, earning widespread recognition within the electronic dance music community.
When someone like Insomniac Events takes notice you know that you are on to something.
One of the winners if The Discovery Project, Phuse was selected from thousands of submissions to play at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2014. After years of producing and refining his sound it seems that the West Coast product has discovered the secret formula.
As with any momentous accomplishments the continued success of Phuse is rooted in his long standing relationship with music. Having been exposed to the piano around the same time he began to walk, Phuse continued to develop his music prowess throughout high school and in to college, creating mixes for close friends, throwing down at house parties, and eventually performing at clubs including Bassmnt and Stingaree before earning a spot on the biggest platform in the world of electronic dance music – Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas.
His latest EP The Throwbacks is a culmination of the skills acquired throughout the years featuring personal favorites and longtime inspirations Will Smith and Notorious B.I.G. Combining funky riffs, gritty bass, electro grooves, thumping sub kicks, and lyrical genius The Throwbacks will ensure you are “gettin’ jiggy wit’ it.” In addition to the EP is Phuse’s newest music video for the track “The Freshest Prince.” Filmed by long time accomplice Evan Carter, the video takes a continuous backward journey throughout a day in the life of the California beat maker.
