As a fan of Showtek since 2007, it has been a journey to watch them grow artistically. While many of their older fans are upset about their departure from hardstyle music, their new sound has brought them far more success and more joy.
Today, one of the most unexpected collaborations of theirs dropped and it’s with no other than super-group Major Lazer. While Major Lazer‘s track with Justin Bieber, “Cold Water”, is still charting pop charts, the two groups have combined for “Believer”.
“Believer” is a powerful dance floor track that will be a highlight at clubs and festivals.
It’s always refreshing to hear when a collaboration is a perfect 50/50 of the two producers or groups at hand. Major Lazer can be heard in the song-writing and dance hall beats, while Showtek dominate the synth game. Showtek utilize their famous hardstyle synths but instead take the track in a more trap-inspired direction, until the second drop.
Diplo specifically, has been one of the most open minded musicians in the electronic music world. He has produced every genre out there, including hardstyle on tracks such as “Original Don”.
“Believer” is heavy hitting in all the right ways and we can’t start to hearing it at shows around the world.
