Our first experience of electronic dance music combined with country was when Avicii brought out Aloe Blacc during Ultra Music Festival 2013 and had everyone in the crowd scratching there heads.
While it still seems like a risk to combine two genres that have, seemingly, very little in common, Bobby Brush has taken one of those timeless country music classics and added the perfect electronic twist.
If any fan of EDM were to try and wrap their head around how country would sound as electronic, the first thing that would pop into that cerebral cortex is tropical house.
That is exactly what the South Florida producer has done in this “tropical country” remix that has us craving those impending summer months.
Sometimes big risks are met with even greater rewards and that is precisely the case in this instance. Says Brush:
I really wasn’t to sure about the whole remixing country thing at first but I got a lot of messages telling me to do more, so back by popular demand here’s my tropical country remix of some classic Kenny Chesney.
This creation is a home run and one that could very well catalyze a new genre of electronic dance music.
