Manchester, England’s instrumental hip hop and mastermind Matt Brewer aka Frameworks is on the verge of something big.
Finding his sound somewhere between the tides of Emancipator and Bonobo, the English musician, producer, and DJ has a profound knack for diving straight into the undeniable soul of music.
With a laid-back approach that sees the musician incorporating a slew of organic and natural samples, sounds, vocals, instruments, and more – Frameworks creates a digital symphony but with an innately human touch.
This idea has never been more evident than in Frameworks’ soon-to-be-released Branches EP.
Set for release via Emancipator’s Loci Records tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 20), Frameworks has dropped a little surprise to jumpstart your day’s downtempo dreams.
Releasing the full stream a day before the official EP release, you can listen to the epic musical goodness that is the Branches EP today.
A 4-track EP, Branches runs through a range of sound and emotion that simultaneously leaves one relaxed yet glued to the edge of your seat and waiting for the next move.
Kicking off with the title track, “Branches”, Frameworks’ Bonobo influence is immediately identifiable.
With a feel that harkens back to Bonobo’s “Kiara”, Frameworks sets the tone for the album’s steady chill grooves.
Rolling through to “Carry On”, the track’s loping cadence and enveloping atmospherics lead further down the rabbit hole, destined to sink deep into the brainwaves.
“The Movement” comes next, dropping it’s ambient tones and soundscapes upon listeners. Culminating in “The Passenger”, Frameworks leaves the Branches EP on an uplifting high with warm percussion and smooth sensual horns that beg the body to move.
Upon first listen, Branches is great. Upon second listen, it’s incredible. After that – well – if you’re already on round 3, you already know…
