BANKS has a deeper vocal voice than most, so when Djemba Djemba reworked this track, the vocals were pitched up & improved upon from the original.
Initialy, the tune “Fall Over” by BANKS was flat with minimal depth. While a great introduction to BANKS and her sound, there was more that could be pulled out (which would evolve into her unique sound today).
Djemba Djemba does exactly that here by grabbing the vox and shaking it’s system to the core.
Djemba Djemba, TeamSupreme’s curator and Mad Decent alum, pulls the rug out from under the original track. Heavily influenced by trap/dubstep, this track shakes, pulses, and jukes its way over the course of this 5 minute rework.
The flip that occurs at 1:18 forces you to begin head shaking every way forth with a “stank face.” Just as quickly as it drops, Djemba Djemba rebuilds by glittering and slowly building it up again; this time, after the flip, scattering more layers over and over.
The juke piano fits perfectly here with the bass drum and snare slaps. As you settle into the groove, Djemba Djemba prepares you at the 3:05 mark for the third section at 3:30, this time leaving no ears alive.
Turn the bass up to 11 and begin the strobe lights.
