HWLS is quickly becoming one of the coolest/dirtiest producers out there. The music is dark, gritty, but somewhow you can’t let it escape your mind. Even though it feels sinister, you can’t help but bump the tunes louder, and mean-mug it.
HWLS remixed Elizabeth Rose’s “Another Earth” by demolishing what originally stood to provide a refreshing take on an upbeat track. Using the piano sample in the beginning and reverberating the synth swirls, HWLS again showcases how to properly remix a track.
While providing you something akin to the original, to get your ears prepared and hooked, at the 0:35 second mark they dive deep into their sound/style. The gritty, droning bass, matches the grainy bass kick sprinkled with shattering snare rolls.
While the track never truly drifts away, it does maintain a perfect balance of honoring the original track while breathing new life into it. It vastly improves upon the original track, highlighting how even the upbeat tunes have a darker side underneath them.
