We just can’t seem to get enough of The Funk Hunters right now and this live mix is a testament to our fascination. These guys have been on an absolute terror and their 2014 Shambhala mix showcases the fruits of their relentless, dedicated labor. Nick and Dunks took over the Fractal Forest with their cutting-edge audio and visual performance utilizing four turntables and a live saxophone.
The resulting mix is one of the most impressive we’ve come across as it comfortably combines mid-tempo, glitch, deep house, hip-hop, breaks, disco house, electro swing, drum ‘n’ bass, and funk!
They even went back to the studio to record the saxophone parts that were laid down live in the forest. Live instrumentation really elevates the quality of the musical experience, and The Funk Hunters make it a priority in all of their live sets, be it with a saxophone or a full-on band.
In addition to their own originals and remixes the set features tracks by Odjbox, CMC&Silenta, Opiuo, The Noisy Freaks, A.Skillz, Alex Metric & Oliver, SNBRN, Krafty Kuts and Kill Paris. Check out the mix and grab the free download from their SoundCloud page.
