Canadian electro duo James Gaudet and Dan Shanahan are keeping it funky with their latest release “Gold Lights.”
Silky smooth melodies, complex layers, and substantial electro-soul elements create a sound that is reminiscent of Gramatik, GRiZ, Manic Focus, and other similar pioneers of the fantastically funky electro-soul movement.
Gold Lights is a slight departure from our most recent efforts as a hiphop/future-funk outfit. Taking inspiration from bigroom bass sounds that have recently inspired us such as Grandtheft, Griz, etc. it’s one of the many various sounds that we’ve been developing over the past few months of hibernation.
Expect our next release to sound different even still as we search around for the perfect sound that inspires us to move forward.
Having shared the stage with the likes of Gramatik, Lunice, Torro Torro, and Viceroy, Wet Paint is making a heavy case for why they are the next big sound of future funk.
