8 Money Saving Tips That Will Optimize Your Music Festival Experience

As much as we hate to admit it, music festivals are expensive. Sometimes it takes months, if not a whole year (or longer) to save up for these events. But there is a reason we do it. The weekend you will spend at your favorite festival is one you will never forget.

Every cent you invest in to your experience will be well worth it. You will make friends and memories that you will carry with you until your last breath. One of the best words of advice I have ever received was:

Spend your money on experiences, not things.

You cannot put a price on intangible moments that will last forever. But what if it does not have to be as expensive as you think? These 8 tips will help better control your festival going lifestyle and keep a little more cash in your wallet.

Buy your ticket early.

Buying your music festival ticket early can save you money in the end.

The earlier, the better. A lot of ticket prices rise as the festival gets closer. People who are selling tickets also know that they can charge more than you want to pay because, the later you buy the more desperate and willing you are to pay for something to make sure you can go to the event with all of your friends.

Also be sure to set up Google alerts with the name of the event so you are the first to know when early bird specials become available.

Choose your festival wisely.

We all wish we could go to everything but, reality is, you can’t unless you are a millionaire. Therefore you must choose your festival wisely. Figure out what it is you’re really looking for. If the lineup is to die for or it is something closer to your hometown, you are going to be more willing to spend. If you are dying to see a DJ but they are at a festival hours away, see if they will be coming to your hometown soon. Choosing to omit some festivals for others will save you money for the next big thing and make that experience much more enjoyable.
