The momentum with which the 22-year old Norwegian producer has been exploding on to the scene is unlike any thing seen before.
One of thatDROP’s 5 artists to watch in 2014, Kygo has been living up to the hype, becoming an internet sensation with his remixes of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” and Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire” which have amassed more than 8 million plays on SoundCloud and 40 million watches on YouTube.
Since then the wheels have been in motion.
Kygo as earned his way on the lineups of The Hudson Project, Electric Forest, What The Festival, and Tomorrowland, in addition to announcing his first North American tour while his remix of Syn Cole’s “Miami 82” got picked up by Ultra Records and served as the soundtrack to Ultra Music Festival’s official trailer.
Being featured as the number one artist to keep an eye on in the summer by InTheMix did not hurt either. Add to that his feature on BBC Radio 1Xtra with Diplo & Friends and it is safe to say that the world is taking notice.
All of this led to Coldplay commissioning Kygo to produce the official remix of their hit “Midnight” which has reached #1 on the pop/rock charts and #54 overall on Beatport and climbing.
Dubbed “100% original” by the Mad Decent mogul, Kygo brings a feel good sound that incites pure grooviness.
