Diplo’s EDM/dancehall project Major Lazer dropped their third full-length EP, Peace is the Mission, on June 1, 2015 and fans around the world are rejoicing in the bass music goodness.
Featuring some huge collaborations, Peace is the Mission boasts tracks with some of the biggest names in music today: DJ Snake, Ellie Goulding, 2 Chainz, Ariana Grande, and more make an appearance on the record. Peace is the Mission is a diverse cross section of music today, and Diplo has proved yet again that his thumb is directly on the main artery of the dance music pulse.
“Be Together”, the first track off of the album, brings listeners in with a chill vibe and smoky vocal delivery that perfectly suited for a 21st century lounge space. Starting at a subdued pace, the song builds to an anthemic chorus that rings with desolate tales of lost love.
Natalie Bergman’s vocals truly make this song. Hazy and manifest with deep emotion, everything in “Be Together” leaves space for her words to shine. As crisp hi-hat rolls straight spin circles and horn like synths provide accompaniment, the song rings out to create a catchy tune that’s sure to show up in DJ sets around the world.
