With the release of Lido‘s new album, Everything, in a few weeks, the Norwegian producer and songwriter has dropped the album’s second single, “Murder” and it is beautiful.
Until now, fans have been making-do with the first single, “Crazy”, which was released back in April. “Murder” is less abrasive in nature, in comparison to the high intensity of “Crazy”, but still has the signature Lido-heaviness as the track progresses.
“Murder” weaves chopped vocals, effects and drums with beautiful orchestrals to create stunning second single
“Murder” begins with choppy vocals and effects, which flow seamlessly into the heavier section of drums and unique-sounding synths. As the track progresses, the beats become more manic and scattered and suddenly drop into soft harp chords. The song finishes off in gorgeous orchestral fashion with flutes, violins and harps.
Lido states, in a recent interview with Complex Magazine, that the new album is “not a story about a girl. This is a story because of a girl”, and is formatted as a story, with “Murder” as the beginning. With this new information, the release of Everything cannot come soon enough.
Everything will be released October 7th via Pelican Fly / Because.
