Whatever is in Khotin‘s batch of goodness is working.
With “Baikal Acid” you’ll be getting your fair dosage of feeling both out of place and just where you need to be at the same time.
Getting lost in “Baikal Acid” is most certainly a trip to be had. Six minutes of bountiful bliss ensues as synth upon synth fill in every nook and cranny with precision. As you go deeper and deeper into the soundscape, Khotin executes yet again to perfection.
Dylan Khotin’s second 1080p release comes after his Hello World LP in 2014. The Vancouver-based producer’s signature style and sound is multidimensional and fluid. At his best, Khotin’s style delievers a feeling that’s both introspective and epically sonic. A light and graceful piano waltzes around toy-box 808s and multiple heavy synths. Much of “Baikal Acid“ is produced in understated emotional texture, but his strengths actually lie in the louder and brighter moments of the production.
The pairing with 1080p seems only natural and appropriate. Khotin recently has been over-seeing operations at the Normals Welcome parties as the temperature and hot new productions start to warm up North America.
