Insomniac Music Group Issues Official Soundtrack to EDC Las Vegas 2021

Alongside the release of EDC Las Vegas 2021 set times, Insomniac issues the official soundtrack to this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival via its expansive ‘EDC Las Vegas 2021’ compilation, courtesy of Insomniac Music Group.

Coming up on its silver jubilee, Electric Daisy Carnival is celebrating an impressive quarter-century milestone of connecting the dance music faithful at one of the most renowned gatherings from all corners of the world. To commemorate its 25th year anniversary, Insomniac Music Group is unveiling its most ambitious compilation album to date. Since first launching in 2016, the annual EDC series has aimed to capture the sonic spirit of the three-day soiree in the Nevada desert by carefully curating a collection of party-starting tracks from the artists filling out its head-turning lineups. Every passing installment has continued to grow alongside the swelling scale of the party, and the label is pulling out all the stops for this year’s landmark occasion.

For the last five years, the crew at Insomniac Music Group has been showcasing the eclectic sounds of EDC Las Vegas with an annual compilation album,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac Events. “This year, they really raised the bar by curating a unique collection of tracks that lets the diversity of our festival’s programming shine through. This team works hard to cultivate a catalog that captures those special moments we create together and keeps them like a time capsule for us to relive for years to come. There are so many exciting releases coming in 2022, as well as many new artists that we can’t wait to welcome into the Insomniac family.”

Clocking in at a whopping 64-track run, the 2021 edition surpasses previous iterations by a mile. Meant to preserve a piece of the magic from the multisensory dusk-till-dawn spectacle, the compilation weaves a thread between the event’s eight dedicated stages to provide a glimpse into the vibrant microcosms of subgenres and their respective diehard communities. With more than 200 artists queued up to take part in the festivities this fall, there’s a whole host of familiar faces and EDC debutantes being added into the rotation. The robust roster wrangles together essential cuts from artists such as Jauz, deadmau5, Charlotte de Witte, 12th Planet, Diplo, Excision, Oliver Heldens, Alison Wonderland, Seven Lions, and a seemingly endless list of crowd-pleasing favorites.

Sprinkled on top is a handful of regular fixtures who have maintained a consistent presence across the Insomniac Music Group catalogs, counting names from the likes of John Summit, SLANDER, Wax Motif, Wuki, LP Giobbi, Dr. Fresch, and SIDEPIECE. Croatian powerhouse Matroda keeps the momentum driving following a string of singles on Insomniac Records, including his heartbreak anthem “Forget It,” which has amassed more than 6 million streams globally. His latest outing “Lifting” is a vivacious piano-led tech house number that is already going down as a highlight from his set at the label’s hosted stereoBLOOM stage.

Australian-based producer Blanke is welcomed for his first-ever appearance on the label, blowing the fuse box with his growling and ethereal acid-laced chunk of midtempo. Regarding the single, he says: “‘Blackout’ was a burst of energy coming out of the pandemic and back into shows. It was created as I started to get back into playing in front of crowds again and was feeling wave after wave of inspiration. I’m so glad to be putting this out with Insomniac and having it part of the EDC compilation because I feel like it fits perfectly with the original intent of the record: To celebrate us coming back together.”

“Being included on this massive compilation is such an honor,” explains Casmalia, who contributes her deep and vibe-heavy house roller. “I’m once again releasing on my favorite label, so it’s only fitting that the name of the track is ‘Favorite Song.’ It was a crowd-favorite at Beyond Wonderland, and I can’t wait to play it at EDC Vegas!”

Parisian producer Dustycloud ramps up the energy with his offering, delving into a plume of rumbling bass house made for peak-time. “I’ve made ‘Rush’ during quarantine,” he explains. “I wanted to use an old and famous bassline of mine and make a very high-energy track that could fit perfectly in my DJ sets. Like most of my tracks, the vibe on this one is very dark and aggressive.”

Handling business on behalf of the hard dance army, the Dutch dynamo Audiofreq gears up for the battlefield by letting out his genre-bending war cry taking the shape of “Like a Warrior.” “I’m so proud of this bad boy,” he exclaims. “A savage alchemy of riddim and hard-hitting hardstyle that hits harder than a gut punch from a UFC heavyweight champion!”

Coming through with the last bit of input from the package, Canada’s glowing house-head Neon Steve gives us a snapshot of his wonky party-hopping collab “Paparazzi” alongside French production pair, Bellecour. “It’s been a pleasure working with Bellecour; they are beasts in the studio and have such a unique style. We are stoked to have Insomniac’s support behind this tune and to be a part of such an epic compilation!”

The official ‘EDC Las Vegas 2021’ compilation precedes the party by an entire week, allowing avid dance music enthusiasts to spend time with the featured tracks before they hear them in action at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, October 22, all the way through to closing ceremony on Sunday, October 24.

More About Insomniac Music Group

Since delving into the record label business in 2014 via their eponymous imprint, Insomniac Records has cemented itself as a prominent player in the industry with an ever-evolving catalog that has welcomed world renowned artists from the likes of Chris Lake, Dombresky, Habstrakt, Redlight and more. In addition to having over 200+ track releases under its belt, Insomniac Records has also curated a premier annual EDC compilation series, featuring four EDC Las Vegas and one EDC Mexico master soundtracks containing standout track selections pulled straight from the festival’s massive line-ups. In 2018, Insomniac Records extended its scope outside of the standard record label model with the launch of Insomniac Music Group, a multi-faceted operation that allowed them to connect the dots between various areas of the music industry. Outside of its existing network of labels—which includes internal brand imprints such as HARD Recs, Bassrush Records, Factory 93 Records, IN / ROTATION, Dreamstate Records and Discovery Project, they have also partnered up with select artists to drive artist-centric labels, such as NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations, Fisher’s Catch & Release, Justin Martin’s What To Do, and Will Clarke’s All We Have Is Now. One of Insomniac’s most notable achievements is the Grammy Nomination they received for Fisher’s chart-topping success, “Losing It.” Now, with the launch of this new publishing endeavour, Insomniac Music Group is positioning itself as a one-stop destination within the dance music space.
