Leave it to the city that cultivated techno as we know it to take a concept that is almost too hilariously absurd and find a way to, not only make it work, but become one of the hottest tracks in the underground. Though tightly wound from a production perspective, exploring a compositional analysis of this “Club Sandwiches” remix does not come close to doing the song justice.
Never has a song had such power to simultaneously make you laugh yourself into a stomach ache while continuing to dance.
First falling upon my ears in it’s hometown during a dimly lit Movement after party featuring Kenny Glasgow and Lee Burridge b2b, Marc Romboy‘s remix of “Club Sandwiches” stuck with me unlike any thing I had heard to that point. Just close your eyes and try to imagine the energy reignited at 4 AM when this hits the speakers.
You can imagine the excitement that ensued when Green Velvet dropped it the next day at the festival during the Get Real set with Claude VonStroke.
