Full Crate & The Partysquad Bring to Life the New Caribbean Movement [Music Video]

Last time we checked on Full Crate along with The Partysquad, early January marked the release of their Mad Decent fiesta-anthem titled “Hot”, along with some eclectic contributions from artists Nick & Navi. The new release’s mainstream sensibilities mixed with instrumental riddim and an addictive drumbeat will pull anyone in.

“Hot” is back on our radar with the release of a brand new music video accompanying the track.

With the music video featuring Nick & Navi on vocals highlighting the dance-hall reggae influences, a summery camera lens plays with Caribbean visuals, wrapping the video up in a nice cohesive package. While there is not a heavy amount of choreography, this effort is highlighted by its cultural roots showcased by the filming locations and addictive background synth evident in the track and sometimes less is more.

As a soft crowd-banger, “Hot” further resonates with listeners with its appealing music video that brings back to the early 00s when Caribbean music reigned as king.

Nick & Navi navigate the track visually with a cool confidence, not letting the boys they sing about get them in the slightest tizzy. Both individuals create moving paintings with their energetic focus and lip-synced delivery of the lyrics. While “Hot” definitely acts as a cultural bridge to a production style largely given up ten years ago in favor of complicated electronic melodies, the music video brings the track full circle in an effort to repopularize the genre with relentless energy and enthusiasm.
