Fern Souza Drops Unbelievably Smooth Cover of Pussycat Dolls’ “Don’t Cha Baby”

Let’s go back to 2005 where Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes dropped the infamous “Don’t Cha Baby”, a song that would cement the Dolls as one of the most commercially successful girl groups at the time.

Over 10 years later it was time for the track to get re-imagined, and “NYC via São Paulo” producer Fern Souza hits gold with this cover.

Premiered by EARMILK, Fern Souza turns “Don’t Cha Baby” into a smooth and sexy chill-out track.

The song opens with a slowed down and heavily filtered rendition of Busta Rhymes‘ verse. As the Dolls’ vocals come in, Fern paints a smooth and lush production landscape to enhance the R&B vibe of the original track.

This cover is hypnotizing and is best listened to with a pair of good headphones. Ethereal production, smooth drums, and throwback vocals – what could be better?
