Electric Forest, We Miss You

With the cancellation and postponement of Electric Forest 2020 and 2021, many of us Forest Fam have a longing to return home. 2020 was set to be one for the books with an off the charts line up, the confirmation of an extra day, and the celebration of Decade One of EF, we knew we were in for a treat. Sadly, things took a wild turn and the whole world shut down, separating us from our loved ones, our favorite places, and our favorite festivals, leaving many of us longing for some kind of connection and glimpse of hope for quite some time. With the return of festivals slowly starting back up in the beginning of 2021, we received the word that hopes of EF 2021 were on the horizon. For many of us that was just what we needed to power through. On April 23rd, we were saddened with the news that we would have to wait for 2022. It’s been a very long two years so far, we are anxiously counting down to June 2022. While we (not so patiently) wait for any glimpse of news from Electric Forest about 2022, let’s look back at some of the astonishing moments from this magical place.

On the Electric Forest website and YouTube, you’ll find a heartwarming series of videos titled “ONCE UPON THE FOREST” , which gives an inside look at what is like to join this whimsical community known as Sherwood Forest. This is a 5 part video series: TIMEAWAKENINGINSPIRATIONDISCOVERY, and HEROES. Awakening shows how Forest came to be, take a look for yourself below.

Wally Wojack, our beloved groundskeeper; was a beautiful soul who’s spirit is felt and cherished in the Forest, as we remember him with every passing of the Wally Tree, and every time we arrive to Forest, we let his legacy live on strong. Wally loved us Forest goers; every year he would wave hello as attendees arrived with just as much excitement as us, and waved bittersweet goodbyes as we left to return again next year. Take a moment to celebrate in his memory. We love you, Wally.

There you have it, if that walk down memory lane doesn’t amp you up to return home in eight short months, just wait for the announcements to start back up again! We will be home before we know it!

“Normal people have no idea how beautiful the darkness is”

Until we meet again, Forest. We miss you.
