T-locs and electronic music enthusiasts far and wide gathered to partake in DUSK Music Festival 2019 this November 9th-10th. With big names like Kaskade, Whethan, Rezz, and What So Not headlining, it was inevitable for the two-day event to be successful. Additional names like ARIZONA and Two Door Cinema Club added more diversity than past Relentless Beats events, and although we love being bass heads, having this range of talent was a nice change in pace.
Walking into the festival grounds, security smiled as our credentials were checked. Three silver rings attracted us the main stage where all the magic would happen. On the main stage, we embraced our inner problems, more specifically ARIZONA’s ‘Problems’. Somewhere in between What So Not and Kaskade, our souls floated and re-attached to the alluring melodics. A piece of us will forever be in spirits with them after that night.

The supporting stages hosted artists like Wax Motif, Goldroom, and Cray. We know what you’re wondering and yes, we did go absolutely cray for the multi-colored-hair beaut. Art installations that were scattered throughout DUSK were whimsical and in a way placed us in scenes from Alice in Wonderland. T’was a vibe.

Overall, the event was easily accessible. The layout was simple which made maneuvering around, jumping from stage to stage, easy. We felt blessed to have found local food trucks offering munchies like milk and cookies, acai bowls, and grilled cheese. There are a lot of hidden gems in Tucson and DUSK Music Festival really opened our eyes to some of them.
Personally, the placement of DUSK completely overrides other venues. It was feet south from the heart of downtown. With each night ending when bar hours began, attendees had plenty of options for after parties. Tucson is intimate enough where if you wanted to, you could walk to any destination. Our souls were quenched. The DUSK experience really offered authenticity to the Arizona music scene.
