The train ride into the debut ARC Music Festival at Union Park in downtown Chicago was sparked with positive vibes among people full of pre-rave feels. Early in the afternoon Layton Giordani set the bar high at the Expansion stage that put us in a forest atmosphere in the middle of the city. Sure enough artists kept offering an amazing selection all weekend long.
The elrow tent spared no expense and keep the tech house and house vibes sky high, courtesy of artists like Patrick Topping, Will Clarke, Lee Foss or Hot Since 82. The lineup for the main stage was more dynamic, bouncing from deep and progressive house to techno. Day one, Nicole Moudaber pulled a huge crowd to The Grid, while stand out sets there on Sunday were Meduza and Eric Prydz.
At Expansion and the festival in general artist after artist showed us why they deserved the limelight. The house and techno community in Chicago is restoring and beautiful. A very nice surprise of the weekend came during the after-party when Cermak Hall and RADUIS opened their connecting doors for one big party. Since pictures say a thousand words, take a photo tour brought to you by Kursza for ARC Music Festival.
