Crankdat truly can’t be stopped. Every few weeks, he puts out a new remix and we have yet to dislike a single one. Earlier this month he remixed Porter Robinson‘s “Unison” throwing it back to a time when a majority of people first got into dance music and the festival scene.
Throwing it back to 2011 once again, he has remixed Swedish House Mafia‘s legendary “Save the World” giving it his signature treatment.
Crankdat‘s remix of “Save the World” blurs genre lines and pays homage to the legendary trio without compromising the original.
If you got into dance music in 2011-2012, then this track is going to be a trip down memory lane for you. Crankdat maintains the emotional elements of the original while adding some new school flare ; his remix utilizes bass house grooves, 8-bit samples, and bright progressive house synths.
As a die-hard SHM fan, I feel as if I have a responsibility to resurrect their work. Save the World is one of THE greatest songs in the history of dance music. I wanted to take it and give it my own 2016 spin, but I wanted to make sure it retained the 2010-2011 dance music elements in which it was born alongside. This is my remix to Save the World by Swedish House Mafia. Happy Crankday!
