AWA Pinecone Pendants
Amber White is an expert in crafting pinecones into intricate patterns that accentuate the extraordinary pendants that she designs, creates, and sells from home. Growing up around craft shows and art fairs in California, Amber naturally embraced the lifestyle of visually expressing her great imagination.
Alongside her passionate career with AWA Pinecone Pendants, Amber is also a professional body painter, special FX, and beauty make-up artist for freelance in the film industry. She creates house and business murals and arranges face painting sessions for children during the holidays. Amber is also a sculpture artist, painter and mold maker in the fine arts for a substantial amount of clients in the Los Angeles area.
This pioneer of natural art had a humble start of simply making pendants for friends using stones and jewelry charms from her own collection.
After about a year of trial and error, she began receiving a tremendous amount of positive feedback and the demand for these custom stone creations spontaneously increased. So in June of last year, Amber opened her own Etsy Store and started selling her AWA Pinecone Pendants online.
Like a true Earth enthusiast, Amber describes the start of her artistic process as “getting a gift from nature every time you cut a pinecone open.” Amber’s system of creation begins with collecting pinecones from out of state, drying them out and cutting into them in between her other jobs. She then paints, colors, and customizes these works of art with their own themes and stones. The last step is hard glossing, then packing them up and shipping them off to their new loving homes.

DESIGNS BY P3RRY
Another Golden State artist has graced us with an inside look into his many faceted company. Coming from a very artistic and skilled background in sunny San Diego, P3RRY took to expressing his artistic vision by repairing, shaping and designing surfboards.
Excelling in this field, his work evolved into expertly customizing cars for a fabrication shop. He was later offered an impressive position in the aero space industry, accomplishing everything from fabrication to assembly.
P3RRY credits the high demand for his revolutionary products to his unique ability to see things from a different perspective. He strives to produce only the most high quality custom rave gear for his clientele, including helmets, LED clothing, LED shoes, LED wings and latex masks. His company is driven by the concept of incorporating props and special FX into the EDM scene.
He calls this new-aged vision EDM FX.
DESIGNS BY P3RRY has been supplying ravers from all over with extravagant accessories for about 3 years now. The small company has gained an immense amount of praise and popularity from P3RRY’s recent success working with deadmau5, Brazzabelle and YRU Shoes. These high profile projects have put P3RRY and his company on the map and created demand for his elaborate work.
Joel Zimmerman, popularly known as deadmau5, saw P3RRY’s Mau5heads in the crowd and pulled P3RRY and his friends on stage.
Joel performed most of the night in P3RRY’s original daftmau5 helmets and even dropped some Daft Punk mixes to honor the theme. The daftmau5 head has been P3RRY’s longest project yet, taking upwards to 5 months to finish due to the complexity of its design.
In the future, P3RRY would love to continue working with Brazzabelle and collaborate with SOFI and Haley Gibby, the vocalist from many of Kaskade’s hit songs. He is hoping to fashion something elegant and spectacular for these talented women to perform in. P3RRY believes that the female DJs, producers and vocalists in the EDM community deserve more credit and attention for their talent and contributions to the electronic dance music movement. He would be honored if he could help bring that awakening to the masses through his work.
P3RRY aspires to work with Kaskade, Calvin Harris, Die Antwood and Pasqualle of Insomniac some day. This talented designer of innovative art plans to use his unique skills to enrich the underprivileged youth and help the deserving children of the Make A Wish Foundation achieve their dreams.
Striving to inspire the future generation of gifted artists, P3RRY is developing plans for a big project at a local children’s hospital.

Dirty Cat Designs
Lauren, like most of our featured artists, lives in California. She is originally from Colorado, but moved to SoCal for college in 2006.
Lauren started her beaded expedition to success by making her first cuff with a little help from her sister. Online, she found Cheshire patterns for Kandi masks and tried her luck with those. After mastering the designs, she began adding bits and pieces to better suit her unique personality.
It was a messy adventure but eventually her creative experiments became an incredible mask of beauty and imagination.
This mask would later spread across the internet like wildfire. Lauren created her first masterpiece by using faux fur from an old rave outfit, extra jewels she had around the house, plastic fingernails that she cut into teeth and home-made holographic nail polish.
Dirty Cat Designs took a lot of heat from the rave community at the start of her career. It was a battle to break the stigma that Kandi should never be sold, only traded. She argued her point that just because her artistic medium consisted of beads, did not make her art any less valuable.
She received both messages of support and disgust.
The negativity coming from a community that supposedly practiced PLUR – Peace Love Unity and Respect – almost made her abandon her passion. But with the love and support from her customers, friends and family she overcame the adversity and is now thriving as an entrepreneur of intricate rave accessories.
Curious about their launch into the overwhelmingly large business, Lauren reached out to a few of the artists that she admired and respected. They shared their inspiring stories of facing challenges and difficulties at the start of their careers but with resounding confidence they also described their self employed journeys as the most rewarding experience of their lives.
With newfound hope, Lauren opened her business in September of 2013. But it wasn’t until September of 2014 that she quit her job and officially became her own boss.
Lauren’s partner in love and life also excels as her partner in business. Alex, the amazing man that she is engaged to, helps bead the elaborate designs and cut the extraordinary teeth for the immensely detailed masks while Lauren handles the administrative side of Dirty Cat Designs. Lauren expertly handles emails, orders supplies, receives the customer mask details, designs patterns, paints beads and makes unique adjustments.
Through dedication and hours of hard work, each and every mask is personally crafted by Lauren and Alex. They take immense pride in the company’s everlasting policy of never making nor selling a mask that’s pattern was not developed by Dirty Cat Designs.
Crafting and selling nearly 400 masks, Dirty Cat Designs puts forth tireless effort to provide the rave community with perfectly detailed and ornately designed Kandi masterpieces.
These masks can take anywhere from one hour, up to 14 hours to hand craft and flawlessly tailor.
The delicate process of making these exceptional Kandi decorations consists of about 70 strenuous hours a week of perfecting order details, hand cramping, meticulous sanding and shaping, teeth cutting, beading together the base of the mask and incorporating special additions such as fur, jewels, lights, teeth and unusual venom tongues.

On Gossamer Wings
Angelia Doyle is the creative force behind On Gossamer Wings. While her focus has been on the construction of fairy wings, she is also a part-time costume designer with ambitions of taking over the world with her undeniable gift for bringing imagination to life.
When she’s not conquering the fairy realm, Angelia is a native Texan with a fervent devotion to all things cowboy, stay at home mom for an incredible 6 year old boy, and wife to an all around terrific guy.
While studying art in college, Angelia developed an affinity for the Goth culture.
She joined in the artistic movement with her fellow fairy enthusiasts and transcended her creative abilities by skillfully building complex fairy wings.
Soon after forging her first set of wings, she became obsessed with producing effervescent accessories for the magical world. Angelia’s home was swimming with wings, they were piled high and she decided she had to start selling her impressive works of art. She began selling her On Gossamer Wings at local flea markets in 1997 and launched her website in 2001.
The On Gossamer Wings are created at Angelia’s home office and the process can take anywhere from a few hours to an entire week depending on the size and intricacy of the design. When delicately forming these enchanted pieces, Angelia often finds herself developing new designs and has to stop what she’s doing and get the ideas out on paper. For special orders, Angelia visits with her clients so that she can understand their personality, their events, stories, dreams, desires and how they want to look and feel on their special day.
On Gossamer Wings has been in business for over 18 years and has a conservative estimate of over a thousand hand crafted wings.
Recently, the company has been expanding more and more into fairy and mermaid inspired jewelry, as well as intricate floral and vine crowns.
