March 2015 is poised to be monumental for the Swedish duo Axwell ∧ Sebastian Ingrosso.
We have all been waiting for the album that the two have been working on for almost a year now, and the pieces are finally starting to come together as they release music bit by bit.
The latest installment of the Axwell ∧ Ingrosso project is a music video series that will coincide with two of their latest tracks, “On My Way” and “Can’t Hold Us Down.”
Part one of the series is paired with “On My Way,” which was released on Thursday March 12, showing the two famous DJs as men destined to duel in an underground gambling/fighting ring. Unbeknownst to their superiors, they have a scheme going themselves.
The second video in the series, paired with “Can’t Hold Us Down,” features Axwell ∧ Ingrosso in their getaway with a major twist that, as expected, comes to a close with a “to be continued” message and leaving us begging for more.
In addition to such huge video and music releases the duo has made their return to the resting place of Swedish House Mafia in Miami – Ultra Music Festival. This was the first time that Axwell ∧ Ingrosso performed together in Miami since that memorable show in 2013 and was arguably one of the best sets of the entire festival.
Throwing down some of our favorite tracks from the days of Swedish House Mafia like “One” and “Save the World”, Axwell ∧ Ingrosso had all of the wonderful memories flooding back. Then of course they brought the house down with throwbacks to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” Hozier’s “Take me to Church,” and Daft Punk’s “One More Time” followed by a slew of new music that they have been keeping under wraps for so long, including “Sun Is Shining”.
Axwell ∧ Ingrosso proved they are here to stay, capping their Ultra Music Festival set off with “Don’t You Worry Child” as the finale, as Axwell grabbed the microphone and assured us with his message:
Don’t you worry about a thing Miami, we’ve got you. We love you guys, you know that right?
For those who have been waiting on the edge of their seats since 2013, the time has finally come. The boys are back and on their way to all of the amazing things that have yet to come. All that is left to dream about is a movie for this journey too.
