Grammy-nominated German DJ and producer, Robin Schulz, made waves at Miami’s hottest nightclub, LIV Nightclub at the Fontainbleau Miami Beach, last Thursday as he kicked off his American Tour.
In a city that never sleeps (or at least doesn’t go out to party until midnight) Schulz provided imaginative, electronic beats that transported the audience to higher ground, completely allowing guests to zone out the real world and zone into the music.
It’s hard not to move your body to the deep, tropical vibes that Schulz gives off in his heavily instrumental and beat-driven music.
He mainly played tracks off his second record and his most recent album, Sugar, which has managed to stay true to his pop-influenced sound while sampling and introducing cleanly packaged beats.
The crowd went wild for his most popular song off the album that goes by the same name. Other standout songs included “Headlights,” “Prayer in C,” “Show Me Love” and of course, “Waves.”
LIV’s trippy rainbow lightshow paired with live skateboarding on the half pipe sitting at the front of the club provided the perfect environment for guests to let go of all their inhibitions and be taken on a magical ride provided by the wide spectrum of dance hits that Schulz kept coming all night long.
Even though Schulz is still considered as a newcomer by some music professionals, he has established himself as a major up-and-coming producer.
His presence behind the decks is not to be ignored.
Schulz worked the crowd by putting on quite a show, posing for pictures during the set and bringing people on stage.
Whether you were on the floor close enough to feel his “too-cool-for-school” swagger, or up on the second floor looking down upon the crowd of hypnotized party-goers, Schulz demonstrated a performance that will be hard to match as he continues his North American tour.
Missed the show in Miami? Don’t worry, he promises he’ll be back. But in the meantime, catch Robin Schulz as he makes his way around North America in the next few weeks.
He will be playing in San Francisco on November 25th and in Philadelphia on November 27th.
