Dubstep fans rejoice because Rick Tryfle’s “Singularity” is an epic foray into the deep and dirty world of the hard-hitting genre.
Honing in on the classic dubstep sound, “Singularity” starts heavily with the huge kick-clap hallmark of the genre and progresses to a massive industrial sound that never lets up.
Never wasting time, the track moves quickly to its first drop. Unleashing itself as an incredibly warped dubstep monster, “Singularity” carves out a wide sonic space that’s complete with driving drums, industrially tweaked synths, sawtooth sound samples, and vocoder tracks that sound straight from a sic-fi thriller.
“Singularity” is an epic piece of work. With an obvious flair for mixing and mastering, Rick Tryfle crafts his sound with a meticulous precision that one doesn’t hear in most tracks.
Every piece of “Singularity” has it’s own unique sonic space, creating a tied-together sound that’s incredibly spacious as it takes over listeners’ ears.
Elements of scratching and turntablism also make their way into “Singularity”, combining worlds for a new sound that one doesn’t usually hear in dubstep. It makes sense, though, as Tryfle originally cut his teeth on the decks. Starting out as a turntablist, his original underground hip hop style has morphed into an amalgamation of many things as he’s progressed as a musician and forged ahead with a myriad of productions that cross the borders between dubstep, ambient, and future beats.
