Henri Pfr may be relatively unknown but his concurrent releases, including this masterful rework of “Voices” by The Police, are earning him some well deserved attention.
The Belgian tropical house prodigy is quickly putting his stamp on the genre with buttoned up remixes of Coldplay’s “Fix You,” U2’s “With Or Without You,” and features on La Belle Musique. At only 18-years old, the adolescent producer will leave you questioning what you are doing with your life based on his melodic affinity.
Whether you are in a poor mood or constantly beaming with happiness, one thing is for sure: You will not be walking away from this tune with a frown upon your face.
The tribal-esque cadence of the lyrics combined with moroccan shakes (which have become a signature in Pfr’s tracks) and ambient flute notes creates a mesmerizing incantation that poses a challenge if sitting still.
If his goal was to pay homage to the timeless 1980 classic, Henri Pfr definitely succeeded.
Not to be forgotten is Austrian Koloman Vuchs who has contributed heavily to the addicting melody laid before us.
