When dance music fans hear anything even remotely related to Daft Punk, we immediately jump out of our seats. Last week, news sources reported that The Weeknd is working on a collaboration with the legendary electronic duo.
While the duo are as silent as always, Canadian producer OVERWERK wasted no time at all and brought us a gift while we’re hyped up on Daft Punk‘s return.
OVERWERK releases “Anthology”, a tribute to Daft Punk sampling their most famous tracks and creating something new entirely.
The Canadian producer infuses Daft Punk with some darker more house-based vibes. Among the groovy bass-lines, we hear samples of some of their most famous songs.
The sampled songs include:
- Harder Better Faster Stronger
- Aerodynamic
- Around the World
- Da Funk
- Technologic
- Get Lucky
“Anthology” shows that their music is truly timeless. Most, if not all modern day producers were inspired by Daft Punk; that’s how so many of us were introduced to dance music in the first place. Being able to hear classics under a new lens showcases OVERWERK‘s talent as well as the duo’s longevity in the music world.
