In a span of just over a month, Nine Lives have been pulling hard at our heartstrings.
From Morten’s “Beautiful Heartbeat” to Louis the Child’s “It’s Strange“, their reworks have been nothing short of beautiful pieces of art. Also being released alongside the likes of Avicii is nothing to discredit. Now with MICHL’s “Kill Our Way to Heaven”, the somewhat mysterious production duo has made a serious statement this early on in their careers.
With their rendition of “It’s Strange”, Nine Lives has yet again added a whole new level of depth and emotion that speaks volumes on what they want to accomplish musically.
Bassed out and airy, a simple beat is paired with vocals and spaced out synths. The original is a truthful tale of how the want to be successful can make us do things we wouldn’t otherwise believe to be acceptable behavior. Nine Lives flips this and conveys their own emotional interpretation to the tune of future bass and gives a whole new meaning to the track.
