Movement Festival in Detroit has established itself as a bucket list destination for true electronic music lovers, and has been ranked countlessly among the best as a music must-see.
Celebrating its 10 year anniversary this Memorial Day weekend at the Hart Plaza, Movement released a day by day schedule, revealing the six stages where over 120 acts will perform. Resident Advisor calls Movement, “More than just a well-curated event, [it] is a celebration of techno and the city where it came from.”The festival has become an established, dynamic showcase for both notable electronic acts as well as a slew of talented newcomers, brought together in the very city that gave birth to techno music.
This Memorial Day weekend event kicks off on Saturday the 28th with Kraftwerk’s highly anticipated first time Movement appearance.
A performance ten years in the making, Kraftwerk’s set will undoubtedly be a historical moment in the festival’s history. Other noteworthy acts include legendary Maceo Plex and Seth Troxler.The rest of the weekend is stacked with carefully curated showcases including Carl Craig’s Detroit Love showcase presented by THUMP on Saturday, with performances from Matthew Dear, La Fleur and more.
