Liquid Stranger has truly transformed into not only a widely respected artist, but a jack of all trades. Whether he’s managing an artist collective, creating underground bass bangers that appeal to the masses or curating and executing his own festival, Liquid Stranger has found success no matter the endeavor.
Liquid Stranger’s new Ascension EP features a repertoire of original tracks and collaborations with fellow Wakaan artists such as LSDREAM, Hydraulix and Luzcid.
The project launched at the start of Liquid Stranger’s headlining Ascension tour that spans across a period of two months and 40+ cities.
Joining Liquid Stranger in the northwest region is Luzcid, Hydraulix and Inzo. Extraterrestrial alien, Shlump, will provide direct support for a number of cities. Additionally, Dirt Monkey will appear at most dates. The Wakaan collective is a force to be reckoned with. The Ascension tour and EP is just the proof in the pudding.
The Ascension EP provided a glimpse into the interstellar experience the tour provides. The energy of the project shifts between explosiveness and more mellowed out cadences. This listening experience is an ode to the fabric that makes up Wakaan’s rapidly expanding influence.
Liquid’s success of leading an impressive roster into the center of attention among the underground scene is just a small piece to an otherwise large puzzle. Us underground heads are well aware what Wakaan is capable of.
Many are awaiting the announcement for the second annual Wakaan festival.
The inaugural year was a huge success, as expected. As things progress, only time will tell what’s next for Liquid Stranger and Wakaan. I think most can agree that fans are content where things stand. Not familar with Liquid Stranger yet, then get a glimps of his set at Lost Lands.
