Nicolas Jaar is the Co-Founder of OTHER PEOPLE record label (previously Clown & Sunset). Born in New York and raised in Chile before staying stateside.
Self proclaimed as a “blue-wave” producer, Nicolas Jaar is unique for creating minimal electronic music.
His style contains many classically trained elements as his live sets often include famous pianist soloists, orchestra segments, film soundtracks, old blues/jazz, but he infuses it with electronic influences varying from Giorgio Moroder to Daft Punk.
Nicolas Jaar’s remix of Florence + The Machine’s “What Kind Of Man” follows in the footsteps of his usual style – each song builds into a long crescendo ending too soon at the most addictive part (10:17).
This remix turns the single “What Kind Of Man” into a 12-minute journey broken into 3 sections that keep you listening the whole way through.
Once the 12 minutes is over, you feel like you’ve only been here for 3 minutes as Nicolas Jaar has a tendency for never staying in the same place too long while making sense; his endurance is inspiring and highly rewarding. Influenced by house music, the track moves, grooves, and develops into the high note at the aforementioned 10-minute mark.
Even though it says the track is a bit over 12 minutes long, Nicolas Jaar proves again why he is in high demand; his music and remixes are never stale and test the listener through and through.
