While impatiently waiting for loyalty codes and ticket sales coming soon, we can look forward to more info being released about the awesome Plug-In Programs that offer amazing ways to get involved with Electric Forest. In addition, the EF 2020 Wish Machine are now accepting wishes.
Take a look back at some of the winning wishes from 2019:
Uma developed an art program that communicates the importance of protecting endangered species through guided painting classes. In return, HQ welcomes Uma to Electric Forest 2019 to teach her very own Brainery Workshop on Wild Life Arts.
“I became enamored with Electric Forest last summer when I was introduced to the culture underlying their unforgettable electronic artists and enchanting art installations. Contributing to EF through WET, attending Brainery Workshops, and exercising my philosophy of Leave No Trace through Electricology’s EcoPoint competition deepened my appreciation for EF’s commitment to cultivating community and environmental responsibility. I wished to return with a unique program encapsulating our passion for creativity, connection, and diversity of life, in EF’s Wish Machine. So as my senior capstone project I created Wild Life Arts, and I’m excited to share it this summer with the Forest Family!”
Hannah is working to improve her local community and started a support group for locals living with serious mental illnesses.
“I successfully started a support group for adults in my community living with severe mental illness (schizophrenia, bipolar, schizo-affective disorder, depression, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, etc.) I began the support group by expressing my interest in the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) who were able to put me through training. From there, I began advertising with a co-facilitator and now lead a group that meets every Tuesday in my local community in Philadelphia.
The group has completely exceeded my expectations. Our members are thoughtful, respectful, caring, and have created a wonderfully safe and confidential space for one another.”
In exchange for Hannah’s support for her local community, Electric Forest and Hannah will collaborate on dedicated a tree in Sherwood Forest to mental health awareness as a symbol rejecting stigmas associated with mental illnesses. This tree will promote actively seeking support in times of emotional hardship.
Jill gives back to her community by volunteering time cleaning up a local park and inspiring those around her to join. Jill organized a day at Denver Parks & Recreation to get her office to take a day to volunteer and give back to her local community. Jill, her office, local Forest Family, and HQ teamed up for a park clean up!
In return for organizing this volunteer day and promoting giving back in her local community, Jill graced the Silent Disco stage at Electric Forest 2019.
