A remake from British pop group Everything But The Girl, “Missing” is the latest deep house masterpiece by Swedish Producer/DJ EDX. Published in 1994 by Atlantic Records, the original track was so popular that the video was nominated for Best Electronic Music Video at MTV’s Video Music Awards.
Though decades have passed, this track was just as much a ‘club anthem’ in 1994 as it is sure to be now that EDX has added his touch. The original club mix features the same kick and snare pattern we hear in most house music today, and EDX maintained the original vibe while adding his own modern spin.
“Missing” starts off with a curtain of piano melodies, eventually uncovering a chunky beat that will guarantee to have you dancing to Mingue’s catchy hook. Injecting deeper sub-bass patterns, modern-day pop synths and melodic vocal editing, EDX highlights the vocals of Mingue.
The bass stabs EDX revisits throughout the track will have the listener grooving as the first kick comes into play. Switching up the key, the Dutch singer utilizes a slow, soft, melodic pitch while EDX encapsulates her vocals with a deep/tropical kick pattern.
If you’re a fan of deep house and tropical house, EDX needs to be added to your list of “frequently listened to” producers.
Expect this track to be played throughout several Spinning Records artists’ sets and mixes. You can count on “Missing” to dominate dance floors and festival grounds across the world over the summer months. With support from Nora En Pure and Croatia Squad, EDX is looking to add to his impressive string of Beatport-dominating releases before embarking on his NoXcuses vs. Enormous Tunes bus tour that will hit major cities across the North America.
Leading up to the tour, we will be hosting Nora En Pure and Croatia Squad at Vibe Las Olas. After selling out our previous event with EDX in November, we can assure you that you do not want to miss this.
