DJ Snake and Selena Gomez have decided to bless the world once more with their newest collaboration, ‘Selfish Love’. The two first worked together back in 2018 on the colossal hit “Taki Taki” that has over 2 billion views on YouTube alone.
It’s hard to follow up a 4x platinum-selling single, but they may have struck gold twice with this new track. DJ Snake had this to say about the collaboration:
“‘Selfish Love’ came very naturally for us, and I think it’s the perfect evolution for our story together,” DJ Snake continues, “With the whole world separated from each other, I kept searching and working only on pure good vibes. I wanted to make music for the world and mix all my favorite influences from Afrobeat, Latin music, something that felt grounded and organic, Selena and I had been talking, and after ‘Taki Taki’ we had to give the world another round with fresh summer vibes. Something that made it feel like summer the first time you heard it. ‘Selfish Love’ came very naturally for us, and I think it’s the perfect evolution for our history together.”
Gomez has reached a superstardom level that very few will ever achieve, and anything she decides to invest her time into tends to turn out spectacular. ‘Selfish Love’ is no different, and her vocals on the track are nothing short of amazing. The song will be featured on Selena’s first-ever Spanish EP Revelación, due for release on March 12th. The song takes you on a girl’s journey through jealousy and how those ugly feelings tend to bring out the worst in people. Love and jealousy can be very dangerous when mixed, but all too often, they come together.
