We’re throwing it back to a live classic from Papadosio’s Earth Night 2014 in Denver, Colorado with this exquisite cover of the Boards of Canada standard, “Dayvan Cowboy”.
Papadosio, the insanely skilled jamtronic quintet from Asheville, North Carolina (originally Athens, Ohio) absolutely nails this live rendition of the Boards of Canada classic.
Effortlessly capturing and recreating the BoC’s elusive analog sound, Anthony Thogmartin guitar tone is nearly identical to the original masterwork, a near impossible feat.
With the intricacies of Mike Healy’s drum patterns leading the way, strings and ethereal piano notes glide and flit about with Thogmartin’s warbling guitar tones.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong when one of the most talented bands today covers one of the most talented production duos. It’s a match made in heaven, and to be able to recreate the original live and in an entirely different medium – well that’s just icing on the cake.
