Beyond the Music: Wakarusa’s All Encompassing Music Festival Experience

Wakarusa 2015’s lineup is absolutely insane, that’s a given, but how well do you know the festival beyond the music and how far have you looked into this year’s happenings at Mulberry Mountain?

In addition to procuring one of the top lineups of the 2015 festival season, Wakarusa has put together an eclectic list of workshops and activities to give attendees the full transformative festival experience. Ranging from morning yoga to the unbelievable myriad of artists who will be setting up their breathtaking installations in the Ozarks, here are 5 activities to enjoy outside of the music at Wakarusa 2015.

Although this is one thing that isn’t free at Wakarusa, it’s definitely something that you do not want to miss. It’s a massive Ferris wheel in the middle of the grounds at one of the top U.S. music festivals – and you’re in for a ride the middle of the Ozark Mountains. If that doesn’t get excitement running through your veins, you might want to check your pulse.

Open hours: the Ferris wheel is open from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily and is $5 for a single ride and $20 for a wristband. Trust us, you want the wristband.

Slack-Librium

Asheville, North Carolina’s slacklining collective Slack-Librium is making the trip to Mulberry this June, and they’re bringing some goodies with them. Setting up a slacklining course at this year’s festival, Slack-Librium plans to bridge the gap between mentality and movement, connecting attendee’s bodies and minds as they test their balance on the slacklines. Once you’ve gotten your basic balance down, try throwing in some yoga poses or other tricks into your practice to take your experience to the next level.

The Farmer’s Market

The Arts Society of Ozark and several local agricultural non-profit organizations are joining together with Wakarusa to provide a Farmer’s Market at this year’s event. Help the local community (and your body) by grabbing some fresh produce at the festival; it’ll not only help to ease your pre-packing load but you can guarantee that you’ll be doing your body a solid by getting all of the necessary nutrients to fuel your dancing feet.

Outside of the lineup (which is absolutely epic), there’s so much to do to keep a smile on your face at Wakarusa 2015.

Whether you want to get refreshed with yoga, pick up some new hoop skills, try your hand at slacklining, or catch some beautiful views of the surrounding Ozark Mountains – there’s so much to explore and discover at Wakarusa.

Try something new at this year’s festival. Wakarusa has provided the perfect canvas to paint your dreams on at this year’s event, it’s just up to you to do the painting.
