DJ and producer Artego has released his new house-oldschool-electro track “Come On, Come On!” available now for free download.

Hailing from Russia`s 4th largest city, Artego is an EDM artist, producer, and DJ whose music made an impact worldwide.

Artego`s house styles have been released by labels including Universal Music Russia, Bugeyed Records, Planet Punk Music, and Kontor Records among others.

Artego has created music under several different names over the years but recently has devoted more time to his inner self – he has spent the last 8 years studying the Brazilian martial art Capoeira and has begun to focus on his solo career.

Expect more from Artego under his own name, as well as his collaboration with Alex “Coolerandlong” under the moniker Dancekraft.

Also check it out and download for free his new progressive house track “Make Me Believe” released 16/06/2014 on Intricate Records and already supported by Dash Berlin, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Flash Brothers, Kenneth Thomas. We had the chance to sit down with the Russian born producer.

Check out our full interview with Artego below.

Tell us about yourself. Where/when have you been born and what are you doing besides music?

Artego: My real name is Artem Egorov, I was born in 1985 in Ekaterinburg, Russia and I`m still living here. Beside music I do sport. I do capoeira martial art for 8 years already and go to the gym.

How did you become to produce music?

Artego: My music production «career» has begun in school, I think it was in 2000 or earlier. I was a big fan of Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and I played a piano for 3 years I think and I have discovered Fruity Loops (nowadays: FL Studio) and was trying to make something like they did! Of course for me it was just a fun in those days.

Later, on AudioGalaxy website i`ve met Philipp König from Germany and we have found we love the same music etc. We have decided to make a track together and release it under alias «Ping Pong Ladies», but later we have named our project more seriously sounding Blendbrank. And 1 month later we had a track “Tentaculo” which we signed to French record label «Ledge Music». That’s how i begun…

What was your first «achievement» in your music career?

Artego: Well, in 2008 i`ve made a track called «Lunatic» with a sample by 80`s Gazebo and I sent it to Pete Tong`s Bedroom Bedlam chart and won the 1st place in the voting. I thought: now it`s gonna be a breakthrough….but I was very very disappointed by the reality. Nobody needs you, until you are popular «brand». Then we decided to make a pop-band Fontano, here in Ekaterinburg, and we made it. We worked together for 2 years, then I left the band, because it is hard to communicate when 2 leaders in it and each other wants to do his own way…

Tell us about your present projects/tracks and you future plans?

Artego: At the moment, I do my own solo production as well as I do music with my partner Alex under Dancekraft alias. We are trying to reach international markets and big labels, but it`s hard to do nowadays unfortunately. So that`s why I had to do a lot of ghost production to earn money… Recently I`ve released 2 new tracks: “Come On, Come On!” which is a house/old-school/electro track released on Italian Not Only Records and “Make Me Believe” which is progressive house track released on Intricate Records.

Both tracks I give away as free downloads because I can make a real fan base on my facebook page, when I say to people: “Like To Free Download.” By the way, we have created crazy idea for “Come On, Come On!” music video: 60 countries, 60 dancers.

Everybody can shoot 30 sec video and send it to us and the best ones will be included to the video and we gonna crazy promote it after we finish it! Regarding future plans: A few strong quality tracks already done and we are trying to reach for the good labels. As I already said – release the track on a simple label will give you nothing. So I don’t even understand why producers are still doing it. More vocal tracks are in process at the moment, so keep your eyes & ears & heart open for the good music!
