Alison Wonderland finds a new rhythm with RITUAL’s mellow remix of Take It To Reality.
The original track dropped on March 20th, 2015, on Wonderland’s freshman full length album, “Run,” and features her hypnotic voice accompanied by fellow Australian trio, SAFIA. The petite powerhouse (she’s only 5’1″) that is Alison Wonderland keeps us guessing with her eclectic tastes, although her recorded tracks give us a different perspective from her live performances. The energy in the room is undeniable when she takes the stage, creating an enviornment pulsing with excitement, building us up to drops that make our hearts skip a beat or three. The record gives a different side of her music, turning it down several levels.
RITUAL takes a softer approach, smoothing the track and taking out many of the builds and crescendos to create a nicely mixed trance-out track.
The track has little variability, and the constant level of the melody lets you relax into the music, opening a quiet space in your mind. It’s easy to get lost in the rhythm, falling into the repition of the beats. The simplicity of RITUAL’s remix is a pleasant change from the increasing need for heavy bass tracks and thumping riffs, reminding us that trance can be just as addicting as everything else in the EDM scene.
For a quiet night of easy listening, this remix is perfect.
