Continuing the holiday spirit until at least January 9th, thatDROP connects with Tyler, The Creative for a second silent disco for charity. This time 1 dollar will be donated for the first 10,000 views for three creative Colorado-based nonprofits supporting local musicians through COVID relief funds. Following suit, we are shining light on three bubbling house, indie-dance and drum and bass artists based in Colorado: Sinistarr, Erin Stereo and Boyhollow.
Presented by Tyler, The Creative, the Stay Home Silent Disco 2, is free to attend. Each set will stream simultaneously on the event website so viewers can toggle between sets on that page to raise money for organizations supporting Colorado artists. Then remember that just your view will amount to a $1 donation (up to $10,000). As they say, “half the battle is just showing up.”
Sinistarr is a prolific drum and bass DJ in the underground dance scenes with the woah factor. Sinistarr will be touching for the Colorado-based Artists of Color Fund, which was developed in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The pandemic has impacted communities of color disproportionately hard, and this organization gives microgrants to BIPOC artists in Colorado.
Recently named Best HoDJ by The Denver Westword, Erin Stereo’s house music will ignite and delight the dancefloor as she has before opening for the likes of Nora En Pure, Claptone, AC Slater and Mux Mool. Her ‘house from home’ set is benefitting Youth on Record, whose music programs support at-risk youth in Denver. Since the pandemic, their programming has transitioned to virtual platforms to make music education even more accessible.
Boyhollow, of Lipgloss fame, is arguably responsible for creating Denver’s indie-dance scene having co-founded and hosted America’s longest running indie dance party since 2001 at Milk Bar. He has worked with, performed at and produced parties with some of music’s biggest names including Ghostland Observatory, LCD SoundSystem and Portugal The Man.
His sure to be fun set is benefitting Rocky Mountain Music Relief, which provides financial and in-kind support to individuals, groups and organizations within the music industry that have been impacted by the pandemic.
The event is also in collaboration wtih Red Bull, Colorado Playlist and Loudspeaker.fm. For updates be sure to RSVP to the event on Facebook. Please note that we are not encouraging in-person gatherings — this party should be enjoyed by the company of your household and via the chat with other fans across the world.
