Chace is a name you’re going to hear a lot of this year. He is a 17-year-old Chinese DJ, producer, singer, and songwriter that dropped a phenomenal debut EP on Yellow Claw‘s Barong Family label.
His Destination EP shows artistic maturity and is production heaven.
The 4-track EP would be considered deep-house but incorporates several elements across many genres including future bass, garage, R&B, and more.
- “Stranger” is a collaboration with label heads, Yellow Claw, and is a groovy house track that is reminiscent of UK’s garage genre.
- “Remember My Name” opens with an emotional vocal-driven piece that leads into future bass plucks that feel oh so good.
- “Next To Me” returns to house following the emotion from the previous track and has an extremely addictive drop.
- “Destination” is the perfect close to the EP and features a slower tempo future bass track.
Seeing an artist produce and sing on all of his tracks is something extremely rare nowadays. We cannot wait to see what else the young producer has in store for us and are looking forward to his next releases.
Yellow Claw stated:
“Chace is one of those extraordinary musicians you encounter just once every few years. For a 17-year-old to compose, write and even sing on all of his records like he does is just mind-blowing. He reminds us of both Disclosure and The Weeknd. This kid from China is heading for flashing lights and stadium status, you’ll see.”
