One of the hottest sounds finding its way into electronic dance music is DamnFrog out of Puerto Rico.
Featuring heavy influences of Reggaeton, Moombahton, Electro House, and Big Room bangers, the duo is spitting out some pretty nasty tracks. Accompanied by their trust ‘turnt up’ frog mascot, the energy at these shows is something out of your wildest dreams.
Damn Frog is a brand new music project led by DJ Nelson, one of the most important figures in the history of Latin Urban music.
A pioneer of Reggaeton, DJ Nelson has partnered with Gaby Metalico to create a dynamic combination of storied Latin producers.
For the Damn Frog project the duo combines their influence and extensive experience with various Latin rhythms to reach a unique style and sound that ranges from Electro Progressive to Moombathon.
The pair seamlessly fuses the tempo and percussion of house music slowed down to the sensual Reggaeton tempo, also influenced by drums and other percussion elements.
As founder of Flow Music and Reggaeton, DJ Nelson’s street-friendly taste helped bring Reggaeton into the mainstream of American culture and mass media.
Founder of the first Reggaeton radio station – Mix 107 FM – DJ Nelson and Flow Music Productions in Puerto Rico are at the forefront of Latin Urban Music.
From their record releases to their live global presentations and collaborations with main artists, DamnFrog and Flow Music are bringing the sounds directly to your ears.
DJ Nelson is responsible for producing the highly successful album “Flow La Discoteka” and is responsible for discovering multi-platinum selling producers, Luny Tunes. His skills have led him to collaborate with Reggaeton megastars Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, Ivy Queen, Don Omar and more.
Gaby Metalico has also worked with numerous Latin artists including J Alvarez, Arcangel, Daddy Yankee and many others. While producing for Latin artists, Gaby always brought that electronic spice to the table, earning wide recognition for his heavily energetic sound.
Although his first track was produced in 1990, it wasn’t until recently that DJ Nelson started collaborating with Gaby.
In 2014 Nelson and Gaby founded their own independent label – DamnFrog Music. With much persistence they have brought Reggaeton artist Zion to collaborate in the DamnFrog project. The byproduct of this have been the resoundingly successful track “Imagination Gone Wild.”
Performing in some of the biggest venues such as Las Justas, in Puerto Rico, club Oracle in Las Vegas and Medalla Light’s Yellow Halloween with The Chainsmokers, DamnFrog has reached immense popularity in only a couple of months. This has led to being featured spots on Sirius XM’s La Mezcla Radio Show and being picked up by Pandora Radio.
The dynamic duo is currently promoting their album “Sunset” and have their hit singles “Hit it from the Back” and “Going Mad” heavily promoted on the radio.
