As the electronic dance music scene continues to expand, more and more music is becoming readily available.
Emerging social media channels provide the perfect outlet for up and coming artists to promote their music to the masses that are eagerly awaiting that fresh, new sound.
Music festivals are often the best way to discover that crispy freshness. I have never left a festival without having at least 3 new artists that I had to listen to on repeat for the next week.
So much good music, so little time.
Luckily for you, we have already narrowed it down to five names that will tickle your eardrums.
As we enter a new year with a tons and tons of festivals and club sets on the horizon, we take a look at 5 EDM artists to watch in 2014.
The Chainsmokers
At first I was hesitant to put The Chainsmokers on this list after the name they have made for themselves following their 2013 TomorrowWorld set which thatDROP.com ranked one of the best of 2013. In a sense, they are already on their way.
Representing Steve Aoki’s label, Dim Mak Records, the Chainsmokers are quickly becoming a household name in the EDM space, landing them the spot as our number 1 EDM artists to watch in 2014.
After their breakout set at TomorrowWorld, the duo been catching fire and fanning the flames.
Their January 2014 release of #Selfie is quickly becoming one of the anthems of electronic music and with the announcement of their tour there is no slowdown in sight.
Give them a listen below.
Henry Fong
The Florida native and Los Angeles transplant has been coming hot on to the scene since he began producing in 2011.
Within his first year, Fong saw three tracks come in at #1, #3, and #7 on Hype Machine’s top 10 most popular tracks as well as breaking in to Beatport’s top 10.
Having performed with Avicii, Steve Angello, Calvin Harris, and Above and Beyond, Fong has already established quite the portfolio in such a short amount of time.
His recently released track “Stand Up,” released through Skrillex’s OWSLA, delivers a slamming house build and heavy bass drops and is sure to be banging throughout the club scene.
Expect him to explode this year.
Kygo
The 22 year old Norwegian native has been killing it with his chill, downtempo remixes.
Recently reaching 100,000 Facebook fans, Kygo burst on to the scene with his remix of Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing, which reached number #1 on hypem.com and gained nearly 300,000 listens in two weeks on SoundCloud.
Having only come out of the woodwork a matter of months and already with remixes of Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, and Kyla La Grange, the sky is the limit for Kygo.
Expect massive things from the Norwegian in 2014. You heard it hear first.
In the mean time, vibe out to his silky smooth sounds below.
heRobust
With three EP’s released in 2013, Atlanta native heRobust has been pumping out remixes to the likes of Carnage, Borgore, and gLAdiator.
After opening for Datsik’s winter tour, heRobust quickly jumped on board and has been setting the tone for 12th Planet on the Smog City tour.
Fall of 2012 found him as social medias second fastest growing artist according to Billboard’s Next Big Sound and 2013 saw the beat-savvy producer touring with Gramatik and Pretty Lights while gaining support from Dillon Francis, Flux Pavilion, and Kill the Noise.
With Rolling Stone, Vice, and Huffington Post taking notice, 2014 is poised to be a big year.

Duke Dumont
After reaching the top of the UK Singles Chart in April 2013 with his single “Need U (100%),” Duke Dumont continued to gain notoriety, receiving a Grammy-nomination for “Best Dance Recording.”
Representing his own record label, Blasé Boys Club, Dumont (whose real name is Adam Dymant) continued his deep house sound by releasing “I Got U” in March of 2013.
