In the final days before Camp Bisco 2015, fans and festival lovers the world over are chomping at the bit to hit the open road and start the trek to the famed festival. Held on Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania from Thursday, July 16 to Saturday, July 18 – Camp Bisco promises (as it always has) to be an insane time of music and revelry in it’s new Pennsylvania home.
After last year’s hiatus, Camp Bisco came out swinging in 2015 with one of the best festival lineups of the summer.
With a lineup that touches on dance music, jam, hip hop, and more – we’d be lying if we said we weren’t absolutely psyched for Camp Bisco 2015.
In order to prepare, we created a list of 11 must-see acts for your time at Camp Bisco (disclaimer: we didn’t include the Biscuits, because they’re a given). Touching on headliners and lesser known names alike, each of these 11 artists promise a mind-blowing experience that will leave you reeling for weeks. Trust us.
The Floozies
Future funk connoisseurs, The Floozies, will be bringing their signature blend of alien level funk to Camp Bisco this year. Honestly, finding words to describe the Kansas duo’s music is rough – the English language simply can’t put this kind of gnarly funk righteousness into syllables and words. All in all, make sure to catch The Floozies. They slay it.
Ott.
Synthesizing sounds as diverse as Jamaican dub and German electronica, Ott. is a master when it comes to the studio. After moving to London in the 80’s and witnessing the blossoming rave scene, Ott. strove to create something different than the electronic music of the day. He wanted something more spiritual than the “frantic, unmusical clatterings of acid house”. So, he holed up in an isolated cottage in southwest England and relentlessly dug into the studio. What emerged is something of glory. With a sound that combines the best of acts like Shpongle, Tipper, Bluetech, and more – Ott.’s blend of psychedelic glitchy trip hop and devastatingly deep live shows are sure to leave fans in awe. Guaranteed.
STS9
A mainstay of the festival circuit, STS9 is one incredible livetronica act that you simply can’t miss. Perhaps the most iconic group that fits under the broad, overarching term, Sound Tribe is known for their cathartic showstopper live performances. The 5-piece band effortlessly creates a driving sound that borders the realms of both organic and electronic performance. With a monolithic group vibe, incredible musicianship, and a list of classics that runs a mile long – STS9 will leave you speechless at Camp Bisco.
Emancipator
Always an makes our pre-festival lists (and for good reason), Emancipator is bliss in audio form. With a downtempo hip hop vibe, Doug Appling AKA Emancipator creates something between a dream and a fantasy with each and every track that he produces. Ethereal, pensive, and airy – Emancipator productions are a thing of beauty. Teaming up with violinist Ilya Goldberg in both the studio and on the stage, Emancipator brings about a spellbinding feeling that’s seldom replicated by any style of music. If you’re looking for a low-key yet inthralling set, don’t miss Emancipator.
Bassnectar
What can we say about Bassnectar that hasn’t already been said; his reputation precedes him. With an all-encompassing amorphous sound and downright awe-inspiring sets Bassinet seamlessly creates transcendent bass bliss every time he hits the stage. If you’ve seen him before, then you already know. If you haven’t, go find out.
Modern Measure
Another unbelievable act hailing Atlanta, Georgia – Modern Measure is an explosive livetronic outfit that’s guaranteed to turn heads with their high-energy performances. Forming in 2013, Modern Measure has quickly taken the scene by storm playing festivals like CounterPoint, North Coast, Suwannee Hulaween, Euphoria, Atlanta 4/20 Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, and more. After signing to STS9’s 1320 Records, expect to hear a lot more from these funky cats in the near future.
HeRobust
Hayden Kramer AKA HeRobust has a knack for captivating crowds with his hip hop and trap inspired form of low-end ready bass music. With a fluid style that touches on many genres of electronic music, HeRobust’s quick mixing and unconstrained approach to his live sets is inspiring. If you’re looking to rage, get to the stage for his set. Your dancing soul will thank you.
Pretty Lights
Grammy nominated producer Pretty Lights is a name that needs no description. One of the biggest (if not the biggest) name in the electro-soul and soul-hop scenes, Pretty Lights has been on top of the game for the better part of a decade. Whether he’s selling out Red Rocks or driving it home at the main stage of festivals across the U.S. – Pretty Lights is a musical magician that you don’t want to miss.

Minnesota native and Chicago transplant John McCarten AKA Manic Focus has that electro-soul sound to get your bones moving. With a sound that ranges from styles as diverse as hip hop, glitch, house, and more – Manic Focus brings a one-of-a-kind sound to performances that will leave you wanting more. With two albums under his belt and an ever-expanding sound, Manic Focus is sure to tear it down at Camp Bisco this July.
Papadosio
Another mainstay of our must-see lists, Papadosio is the 5-piece livetronic tour-de-force that takes no prisoners as they melt faces with each and every live performance. With immaculate musicianship, entrancing songwriting, and an incredibly immersive fan-base – Papadosio promises to be an absolute blast in Scranton.

You have obviously never listened to Tipper before. Ott, emancipator, and bassnectar would all agree with me in saying that you messed up leaving him out of this list.
