This year’s lineup for Nocturnal Wonderland has caused quite a bit of noise from Insomniac followers. With many people on each side of the fence, here is why we think it’s one of the best ones yet.
Nocturnal is Insomniac’s longest running festival, with this year making it the 22nd year.
Back in the day, Nocturnal was meant to be a smaller more intimate experience. Pasquale Rotella posted on social media that Nocturnal “is going back to its roots”, this is something to be excited about! ‘Squale stated that they would be focusing more on the experience as a whole; with enhancements made to the environment and a limited amount of tickets to make it less of a “SoCal Massive”.
This year Insomniac is focusing on up and coming artists, giving the chance to discover new talent, and creating unique vibes like those at Lightning in a Bottle, Desert Hearts or Sonic Bloom. (YAY!)
While Insomniac managed to still throw in a few well known artists like Excision, Keys N Krates, Dillon Francis, Sub Focus, and Zomboy; many of the names you don’t recognize will surprise you. We think you should definitely take the time to check out Maximono, Bijou, Dombresky, Goldfish, and Trippy Turtle.
Along with the new changes; this year Nocturnal will be taking place at a more intimate location, Glen Helen Regional Park, which is adjacent from its previous home, San Manuel Amphitheater.
Last year, Nocturnal took place on Labor Day weekend and spanned over 3 nights of filth, this year it will be held on September 15th & 16th, a choice that falls within “going back to it’s roots”. In the past, Nocturnal was a two-day festival and was around the dates chosen this year.
We can’t wait to see what other changes are in store… See you there!
